You’re a realtor or agent and you want to make the most of your Real Estate marketing with Social Media Posts. Because we all know social media posts can be a powerful tool for your branding and messaging!
Or you’re asking, more simply “What’s the best way to post on social media online?”
Well, there are a few guidelines I use every day to make great social media posts – and they’re guidelines that can work for anyone!
I’m Tessa Haselman, Social Media Specialist for Wow Video Tours, and I design and oversee our clients’ Social Media posts every day!
But you don’t have to go to college or work in social media full time to make great social media posts – and I’m going to show you how we do it here at WOW – and how you can too!
USE TOOLS TO CREATE SOCIAL MEDIA GRAPHICS TO MAXIMIZE YOUR POSTS!
Our marketing team designs with Canva as well as Adobe Creative Cloud. Of course, you can make content too, even if you’re not savvy when it comes to design programs. There are other resources you can tap into online.
You still need to have a strategy, even if you’re doing it yourself!
FREQUENCY AND CONSISTENCY ARE KEY!
First up – we tend to post for our clients 3 times a week. In our experience, 3 posts a week is the “sweet-spot” for organic reach!
Facebook and other social media algorithms like consistency. Unless you’re paying for an ad spend to create reach, you want to do what makes Facebook like your posts to get the maximum organic (free) reach.
CHANGE UP THE THEMES OF YOUR POSTS – DIVERSITY IS (ALSO) KEY!
Then you need to change up the theme of that post, ideally with EVERY post.
Every week, our goal is to post:
- A little bit of real estate
- A little bit of local
- A little bit of fun stuff that shows off your personality
SOCIAL MEDIA POSTING THEME 1 – “A LITTLE BIT ABOUT REAL ESTATE”
So my tip for real estate? You can find great articles online simply by trolling Google.
Then for your post, you can
-
-
Pull a quote you think will register with the audience – something that turns them into your followers, and include it in the actual post (or in your caption)!
-
Figure out a graphic (utilize Canva)
-
Link an article!
-
SOCIAL MEDIA POSTING THEME 2 – “A LITTLE BIT OF LOCAL”
- For local, you just want to show potential buyers and sellers that you keep yourself involved with the community!
So post a still photo and a quick caption about your time at local spots, or with local people.
-
- Restaurants
- Fundraisers
- High school, collegiate, and professional sports
SOCIAL MEDIA POSTING THEME 3 – “A LITTLE FUN STUFF”
Now for your third post every week – and when it comes to “fun stuff” remember:
You’re an expert in the market – but you also have a fun side – and you want to show your personal side, so potential clients can relate to you.
You want to show your personal side of who you are:
- The puppy you dressed up in sports attire for the big game!
- That awesome salmon dinner (or yummy dessert) you just made!
- The kids sporting that week’s holiday get-up (from Halloween to Flag Day!)
- That new movie you love!
This is all about what makes you fun. And potential buyers and sellers suddenly relate to you!
SOCIAL MEDIA COPY TIPS – THE RIGHT KIND OF WRITING (EMBRACE THE PUN!)
I’ll practice here what I preach:
- Keep your copy short and sweet! (Check out Wow’s Facebook and Instagram for examples)
My secret is: I use puns!!!
- Relate them to the date, holidays, a community event – more fun stuff!
- I troll Google and “borrow” many of my puns, for just the right post!
- Remember: you don’t have to be original, just fun!
